After years of making all-natural soaps, we stumbled across tallow, and our line of rich tallow-based skincare was born. A little goes a long way to hydrate and nourish all skin types. (Bonus: every single ingredient is easy to pronounce).

Looking for a chemical-free candle that you'll love to burn in your home for hours on end? We were, too. And when we couldn't easily find them at any stores, we decided to make them.

Our goal? Candles that smell amazing for hours on end...without any of those migraine-causing ingredients and perfumes.

Made without parabens and without phthalates, our all-natural soy candles and lotion candles are 100% safe for kids, pets, and humans alike.

What’s in a name? The story of a town that sounds like a superhero movie

Named after our home in Copperopolis (though we’re not really into comics, it’s always sounded to us like a city name that you’d find in Clark Kent’s universe), Copper Soap Works is nestled in the heart of the Sierra Nevada Foothills in California.

Surrounded by rolling hills dotted with oak trees as far as the eye can see, it's a place of raw, natural beauty. Even before Copper Soap Works was founded in 2017, the landscape moved us. We started our business in part to support our local community and honor the gifts given to us by the land.

The magnificance of our area continues to give us ideas and natural resources to use in the creation of our soaps, candles and skin care products. So it only seemed fitting for us to name our business after the land that inspired it.

    Claudia is a retired wedding & portrait photographer turned soaper.

    Claudia's spent countless hours studying soapmaking and is a member of the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild.

    In her rare free time, you'll find her in the mountains, hiking, camping or kayaking with her husband James.

    CHIEF LOGISTICS OFFICER

    Computer programmer by trade, James is the muscle behind the brand. Day in and day out, he tirelessly hefts 50+ pound buckets & boxes of oils & butters. Loading and unloading, setting up and breaking down at all our events, we truly couldn’t do what we do without him.

    When not watching football, you’ll find him out in nature hiking with Claudia.
